First Day of School- New backpack
Yay!!!!???? Today was the first day of seventh grade. We went two hours later so the sixth graders wouldn't get swarmed with older kids, ha ha. I didn't get a new backpack this year because if I did I would have to pay for it, so I splatter painted my old black one. Everybody was gone and I was home alone. My mom said it was okay to do it as long it was outside in the rocks. Well, bummer, it was raining and thundering and lightening. So that was a downer. So i just decided to splatter paint it in the kitchen. Heck, why not, nobody was home to stop me? My mom found out, but she wasn't mad (thank goodness) because I didn't make a mess! I laid down newspaper and put it up the cupboards in a corner. When I told brett and my dad, I got a really funny picture of them searching the ceiling looking for paint, which there was none. It was great, and it looks super cool! I would have pics, but only one would upload and it was of the newspaper. So i just decided not to post it. I will try again sometime.....maybe. See Ya!

More Tri Pics
Here are some more extra pictures that were taken at the Triathlon. So the very bottom picture is me with all of my "fans". There's my dad, my grandma from Kansas that was staying with us, Brett, Tyler, and Edwin. The teenage guys all rode their bike which was a 30 mile ride round trip. They left at about 7:00 (oh ya i woke up at 5:40 a.m.) and got there about 8:30 I think. The next one up is me waiting to get called over to the start of the 12-14 year-old triathlon. Then the next one up is my transition area that you set up before it starts. Then the 2nd picture down is me right after the race drinking a gatorade. I hadn't had anything to drink during that except for one sip on the bike, but then when I was putting it back the water bottle fell out, so I had to stop to get that. When i got back on my bike my shoe came untied, and I was scared it was going to get caught in the chain, but I didn't do anything about till the run. The top picture is me right after I received my award, the second place ribbon. Scroll down if you want to learn about our stay-cation, or more triathlon stuff. Thanks.
Swim, Bike, Run, Soccer!!!!
On August 1st, I competed in my 5th Triathlon!!! It's called the Fall Frenzy for kids 6-14. My age group did a snake swim for 200 meters, 8 mile hilly bike ride, and 2 mile run. I finished 2nd in my age group which was 13-year-old girls. I compete a year older than I really am. The girl who beat me was on a competitive triathlon team, that basically means they train, I don't really train except for swim team which ended about 3 weeks before this. My soccer coach had called the night before and said she was scheduling a practice tomorrow afternoon. So we left right after the triathlon awards, came home, was home about 5 minutes, and then we were on our way to an hour and half of soccer. Wow, I was tired, but I love triathlons and soccer so even though my dad didn't want me doing both, I couldn't miss either soccer or the tri, so ya i did do both. I'll post more pics in the next post.

Stay-Cation
Last week, i think, we went on a stay-cation, which is a vacation without going away. They are actually more fun than they seem. We went to the movies, up to Estes Park, climbed a fourteener, and went to the mall. We saw UP in 3D, which I don't like animation, but this was okay. In Estes Brett and my dad, went mountain climbing and my mom and I went horseback riding. Then m brother and I went go-carting, which was super fun, Brett won. Then on Wednesday Mocha, Me, Brett, my mom, and my dad climbed Mt. Shermon. So it was fun, and if you are looking for a way to save money and have fun, try a stay-cation.
